• I believe AP Calculus aligns with nearly every future field of study. I learned from Professor Leonard's lessons on Youtube, which I found highly effective. For nonprofit work, my friends and I, with support from our school, organized a teaching project in mountainous regions. I think discussing plans clearly with school counselors makes such initiatives much more manageable.

• AP isn't that crucial; I think it's more of a bonus. It's better to participate in competitions, especially writing contests! If you have spare time, you can also organize a club yourself. I believe these activities are more helpful for strengthening your application essays.

Don't worry if no one joins at first—just start, and you'll meet like-minded people along the way. Also, talk to your teachers; many of them have other roles outside of teaching, like coaching or working with organizations, and they can provide useful information.

强烈建议如果在美高一定要利用好身边的资源，就算在很村很偏僻的地方其实也有很多机会，比如养老院，动物救助中心，儿童辅导中心。这些机构在美国很常见，可以加入学校的社团一起去做义工。如果想自己开创一个组织，可以做一个创建一个club，做一个club leader然后带领团队一起做。不要担心万一没有人加入怎么办，只管去做就好了，在途中总会遇到同样感兴趣的人。可以多跟自己的老师聊聊天，分享自己想要做的事，因为很多老师除了教课以外还担任着其他的职责。比如教练，某机构的合作人，某慈善机构的长期合作伙伴等等等等。跟他们聊天会收到很多有用的信息

建议大家都尽量在10年级开学前把托福考到100以上，10年级开学开始学SAT。AP的话第一年建议学两门经济，因为比较简单，容易考出5分。竞赛的话可以参加DLC辩论赛，AMC，活着NEC。
